Valparaiso High School will host sports physicals on June 4 & 5 in the VHS gym from 6:00PM-8:00PM.
Monday, June 4th will be for incoming Freshman (class of 2016) and Seniors (class of 2013), while Tuesday, June 5th will be for Sophomores (class of 2015) and Juniors (class of 2014).
The physicials will be $25, with checks payable to VHS.
The Valparaiso High School girls track and field team finished just a half-point behind Chesterton at the 2012 Sectional Track & Field meet at Chesterton High School on Tuesday.

For the week of May 15, 2012, the Valparaiso High School baseball team jumped from sixth to fifth in Northwest Indiana, leapfrogging the Chesterton Trojans in the Region Sports Networks’ weekly rankings of area baseball teams.

5. Valparaiso Vikings (17-9; Last Week: #6)
The Valparaiso High School boys’ golf team took care of business on Tuesday afternoon, securing the top four spots in a Duneland Athletic Conference tri-team meet against Crown Point and Merrillville.
Andrew Gariup (36), Kyle Meihofer (38), Logan Bertalan (38), and Bobby Jacobs (39) finished 1-2-3-4, with Patrick Andrie shooting a 44, good for tenth place to give the Vikings a 151 – 164 (Crown Point) – 211 (Merrillville) win.
In a matchup of two of Northwest Indiana’s top baseball teams, Valparaiso fell to Portage 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Portage High School.
In what turned out to be a pitcher’s dual, the Indians’ Kris Springman was able to outlast Devin Bafia, who came in relief in the first inning to finish out the game for Valpo, recording six strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits.
